Event Open from 10am - Race Start at 1pm

The 2025 Maldon Mud Race is fast approaching and it’s important you familiarise yourself with the information in this email before Sunday 4th May 2025.

Parking

As a competitor you are permitted to park in Lower Plume School (Mill Road, Maldon CM9 5DU) or Council Offices Car Park (Princes Rd, Maldon CM9 5DL). The Lower Plume School car park is restricted to competitors only.

We recommend you arrive early to secure a car parking space. If either of these car parks are full you can park in any Promenade Park Car Park free of charge by displaying your parking permit.

Checklist

  • A strong pair of shoes
  • Socks
  • Duck tape
  • Black sack for your dirty clothes
  • Warm clothes for when you are waiting to race and after the race

Please note: We cannot be held responsible for your personal property. We do not provide any secure storage for valuables.

Registration

On entering the park please make your way to the Mud Race registration trailer which will be situated by the lake and can be identified by the Maldon Mud Race flag.

You will be provided with a timing chip (which must be securely attached to your shoe with a cable tie that will be provided) and a coloured wristband.

Registration is open from 9:30am and will close at 12pm. You must ensure you are registered before 12pm.

Fancy Dress

The fancy dress competition will take place shortly before the race at 12:30pm.

Warm-up

The warm-up will take place at 12:45pm near the start point.

The Race

The race is scheduled to take place at 1pm (subject to tide).

For safety competitors will be called forward to the start line based on their assigned colour group.

After the Race

On completing the course you will be provided with a foil blanket whilst we remove your timing chip. Please be patient whilst we remove your chip. Showers and hot drinks will be available.

You will then be presented with a Maldon Mud Race 2025 medal.

It is essential that you wash your hands before consuming any food or drink. Soap and hot water will be available in the toilet block.

As a competitor in 2025 Maldon Mud Race you need to raise £50.00 in sponsorship to take part in the race.

All sponsorship monies raised goes directly to the charities we support and by you taking part in Maldon Mud Race we raise thousands for good causes every year.
